Back to School Stationery Haul

FullSizeRender (6)

So for today’s post, I’m blogging about the stationery that I purchased for school. These were all a steal with the highest priced item at only $6.00. All of these were from Target, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, so check out their products. Also, The shirt I’m wearing is from Primark and was only 6 pounds.

I’m obsessed with stationery, and I love these Thank You cards. Right now, I’ve been really into metallic prints and these gold polka dotted cards are simple and cute. These were $3.99 from TJ Maxx.

This Target candle was only $3.00, and I really liked the scent. I like more simple scents, but this one is a nice mix of coconut and citrus, and it’s not overpowering either.

These pencils were $1.00 and they have the days of the week printed on them with the pink one simply saying “weekend” on them. I thought there were quirky and cheap. The cosmetic bag can also function as a pencil case and it was only $5.00 by Ashley Mary.

I got this simple notebook from Marshall’s, and it was $3.99. I loved the quote and color, and it’s the perfect size to carry around to jot down notes.FullSizeRender (11)

These were all $1.00 from Target. I like to clip my papers and notes in bunches, so these paper clips were an essential. The pens also had a fun design on them, so I picked those up as well.FullSizeRender (12)

I also use these file folders to organize my class notes and work papers so these were perfect because they came in a set of nine. They were $5.99 at Marshall’s and I loved the short sweet sayings written on them.

This little painted tray was $2.00, and it was super pretty. I thought this was great to throw jewelry on, or to put keys on. FullSizeRender (14)

Finally, I got these little portraits for $3.00, and I loved the inspirational sayings on them. The designs were also diverse with prints such as stripes, polka dots, flowers, and watercolor. I hope you liked this stationery haul. Please like and subscribe if you liked this post.

July Favorites

FullSizeRender (8)

I’m currently loving my new products for my July Favorites post, and I’m going to be sharing some of the beauty essentials that I’m using right now. Also, the lace romper I’m wearing in the photo above is by Romeo + Juliet Couture, and it was $22.00.

I’m going to be doing a lipstick review sometime soon, but if I had to recommend a lipstick right now it would be the NYX butter lipsticks. For my skin tone, I’m drawn to more darker berry colors, and this one was a nice dark cherry color. It is called moonlit night and was $5.99 at Target.FullSizeRender (3)

I really love Wet n Wild products because they’re decently priced and very good quality. I’ve gotten two of their palettes and first of all, I love that they’re labeled. I also love the colors I got because they’re great for during the day too. My only complaint is that the brushes are a bit too small, but I also have my own brushes that I use. The small palette was $1.99  and the bigger palette was $5.99 at Rite Aid.FullSizeRender (7)

I’ve been looking for quality eyeshadow brushes because I’ve been really into experimenting with different shades lately. So I found these brushes at Marshalls by a brand called Polish’d and the quality is perfect for blending because the brush is thick enough for the lid and crease. Again, the labeling is great for beginners too. These were $3.99, and I’ve been looking for more online but can’t find it.FullSizeRender (6)

This Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara from Sephora is really great and was $12. It’s a nice combination of volume  and thickness without being too clumpy. The pencil is from elf, which I really like because it has a great black liner, but it also has a smokey shadow, which I apply to my lower lid. It was only $3.00,and elf is another brand that’s cheap but still quality.

I put this in my June Favorites, but at the time, I just really liked the smell. But after using it for a while now, I love how long-lasting this body cream is. When it comes to beauty products, I’m all for cheap inexpensive products, but this $7.00 cream is worth it.FullSizeRender (1)

I usually use dry shampoo by other brands, but this is one that I just wanted to try out. Now, I really love this brand because the smell in ten times better than most dry shampoos and my hair just feels cleaner when I use this product. It was $1.99 for a travel size bottle from Walmart.FullSizeRender (10)

For heat protectant spray, I usually use Tresemme, and it’s a great product, but this heat protecting spray leaves my hair feeling more shiny, and surprisingly more light. FullSizeRender (9)

When it comes to makeup bags, I go through them so quickly because my brushes get messy and my powders get all over the inside of the bag, These Ashley Mary makeup bags are perfect because I can store my brushes in one zipper, and my makeup in another zipper. After having this makeup bag for a few weeks, I’m way more organized and don’t spend time trying to find everything when I go to do my makeup. This was on sale at Target for $5.99 and it comes in so many beautiful patterns and prints.

June Favorites 2016

For the month of June, I wanted to make a favorites for some of the beauty products that I’ve been using. I found the links for almost everything if you’re interested in any of the products.

victoria secret
Victoria Secret Temptation

Victoria Secret has some amazing perfumes, but sometimes they are a bit expensive. This scent is the perfect blend of floral, but not too sweet. It’s a lasting scent, but it’s also light too. I’m loving this perfume and recommend it to anyone. I got it in stores for $11.35, but online it is a couple dollars more.

chapstick total
Chapstick

I use this all the time, and the lemon one is probably my favorite. If you’re not huge on lipstick or don’t want the stickiness that comes from lip gloss, this is a great alternative. Your lips still get a nice glossy sheen without the sometimes thick mounds of lip gloss.

peach body
Peach Bellini Body Mist

Bath & BodyWorks recently had a huge sale, where body mists and body creams were $3-$4 and I couldn’t help but pick up a few things. I’m not huge on body mists because they don’t last as long as perfumes, but I really loved this peach bellini scent. It’s great for the summertime.

peach cream
Peach Bellini Shea Cream

I also bought this ultra shea body cream because I sampled a bit in the store and it left my skin feeling soft and smelling amazing. If I wasn’t going to wear perfume, I’d definitely pair the body cream with the body mist for a more lasting scent.

So I picked this up in London, and it was a last minute buy in one of the local shops nearby. It was $5, and I liked a majority of the palettes given. When I actually used it, I realized that this was perfect for blending. Because I have darker skin, sometimes the amount of browns and beiges can be limited, which is a bit frustrating. This palette had a great range of browns and even gave some nice navys and purples if I were to use it at night.

italian citrus
Italian Citrus Sun Body Mist

This Italian Citrus Sun scent is also very light. It’s a nice almost grassy smell and the citrus smell balances out the rest of the mist. This is one I’d use if I were running errands or just going to class because it’s a nice refreshing scent for more casual days. The prices went up slightly, but I still think they’re worth trying out.

pantene
Pantene

I am in love with this shampoo. I think I’ve tried every shampoo brand there is, and I can’t believe how well Pantene works for my hair. My hair is curly, course and very thick, so finding the right shampoo has been a challenge. I also use a lot of heat on my hair, and this shampoo works so well on my ends so they don’t look fried. The frizz factor was also a concern of mine, but it ended up making my hair less frizzy and dry. I’ve tried many expensive products too thinking it would help my hair, but this one leaves my hair feeling very healthy.

Hope you enjoyed this post! 🙂

Decorating My Dorm

So I’m back in college, and decided to share what my dorm looked like. It’s very colorful, and I hope it gives you guys some ideas for decorating your own room.

FullSizeRender (46)

This is the wall right above my head. It’s one of my favorite parts of my room because of the mix of patterns and textures. First, I loved the long poster of daises placed in a simple vase. It’s vibrant and fun, but still has a minimalist feel overall. Underneath is a collage of a bunch of small little posters and cards. I included some magazine pages from an old Marie Claire issue. I also used some old cards, which is the tulips, the butterfly, and the sun cards hanging up. The cake pop and macaroon posters were from an old calendar. The white frame with gray brushstrokes was an old folder that I cut out and framed, because I liked the pattern.

FullSizeRender (40)

I also included a teal poster that has various brushstrokes and says imagine, which I got at A.C Moore.

FullSizeRender (47)

I wanted to have fun with my bed set, so I played with color. The yellow bedspread, and teal sheets are from Target, and I loved the color combination. The pillowcase with gray birds is from another sheet set, and it was from Marshall’s by Cynthia Rowley.

This is my desk area. On the right side, I have a small pink and green box with a mix of cards and envelopes. My desk lamp was only $5.00 from Walmart. Also, I have my notebook, planner, a book that I’m reading, and the newest issue of Vogue piled on the side.

FullSizeRender (42)

I wanted a little plant for my room, and love this little fern by my TV. It definitely makes a room cozier. I also have a cute little cupcake mug for coffee in the morning.

FullSizeRender (45)

Finally, this is my closet space. There really isn’t anything special, other than this cute little jewelry idea that I came up with. I used some thumb tacks to hang up my jewelry because I wanted to showcase my statement necklaces, and it’s a lot cheaper than getting a jewelry rack.

And that’s my dorm room. Hope you liked it!

How to Make Your Dorm More Comfy

Here are some small things to add to your dorm to make it a little cozier. They aren’t the obvious things like a rug or throw pillows. I included a lot of decorations and home goods below.
IMG_5701

Small Notebooks: I love having a notebook to jot down quick notes, so I really liked both of these notebooks. I usually write down notes for class or blog ideas in these. The blue one was $3.00 at Home Goods, and the other was a gift by Louise Carey.

IMG_5714

Bright Picture Frames: I love having pops of color, and I really liked this color combo. A fun frame is perfect to put pictures of your family and friends in.

IMG_5707

Printed Pajamas: For the lazy Sundays where you’re in your pajamas all day, I think these shorts and pajama bottom are perfect for college because you can’t even tell it’s sleepwear. The blue crocheted pair were a gift from Target. The dark blue shorts were $9.99 from Burlington, and the Cynthia Rowley bottoms were also $9.99.

IMG_5702

Fragrance Sachets: These are great to throw in your drawers of clothes and your closet. These were $2.99 at Burlington and they’re vanilla coconut. They make your clothes smell fresh, and I really like this warm scent.

IMG_5703

Fun Folders: Remember that these are the folders that you’re going to be throwing on your desk after class. These were a $1.00 at Target, and it reminds me of shopping for the printed folders when I was in elementary school.

IMG_5010
Blue Printed Loose Shorts by BeBop from Burlington Coat Factory: $9.99
IMG_4751
Old Navy Strapless Red Maxi Dress: $12.99: This was one of my favorite pieces that I wore on my trip. It fit like a glove and the bright red really popped.

IMG_4948

IMG_5013
H&M Printed Tank Top: $9.99: Again, I really focused on different fun prints and, I liked the criss cross straps on this tank top.
IMG_4976
Crocheted Tank Top by Rebel Sugar from Marshall’s: $9.99 Polka dot Printed Pant with Sheer Panels from Burlington Coat Factory: $10.98: I love these pants. The print is a messy polka dot print which appears as if it were painted on. I wasn’t sure about the sheer panels on the bottom, but when I tried them on, it looked really cool and modern.

Target Finds: Pens, Pencils, Straws and Smelly Things

I love browsing Target. I always leave with unnecessary items, but I bought these for a descent price so I thought I’d share them below. The pens and pencils were a $1.00, and I just love the watercolor patterns on them. The  aromatic diffuser was Violet Leaf and it was $3.00 and  smells really light and flowery.

I know a lot of people love the paper striped straws in a mason jar, but I thought these plastic ones were more realistic since they are reusable. They were $4.19 for four straws. You can use them in Aladdin products too, like the tumbler I put below.

Additionally, I didn’t buy any clothing at Target, but they had a lot of summery clothing and a great selection of bathing suits!
