Meet Kelorn Francis: My name is Kelorn Francis and I live in New York. I am and IT Analyst with a love for fashion, a passion for style and an obsession with shoes.
When it comes to fashion, here’s my philosophy:

When it comes to fashion, there are trends that I will definitely wear but it has to work for me. Meaning that the fit and design have to work for my body type. You will not find me in every trend that is in season but you will find me in the ones that can depict my personality and reflect my personal style. Brands and price are not the objective for me. When I see a top or a pair of shoes, my mind starts going at how I can style that item. My philosophy on fashion is “it’s all about the shoes”. I do not care how much your outfit costs or what brand it is, if you are not wearing the right pair of shoes your look will be graded an F.

My favorite summer trend right now is…..

My favorite trends this summer if the peasant tops especially those that are off the shoulder. I love that they are sexy without being tight and fitted. It seems like these days that your clothes have to be skin for it for to referred to as sexy but these blouse ooze sexy with just the hint of your shoulder.
 When I’m in a rush, my go-to shoe is…..
When I am in a rush, my favorite go to shoes is a pair of red pumps. I have about 5 pairs in different style and shades of red but anyone can save the day. Besides being my favorite color, the pop of color adds life to your look and red heels always turn heads.

Most people tend to go with black when you have to grab and go but I go for color. I love love love wearing black but when I put some color on it lifts my mood and no one can tell that my outfit was put together in under 5 minutes.

How to Wear Winter Clothes During the Spring

If the weather has been too chilly to be wearing tank tops and shorts every day, here are some ways to incorporate your winter clothes into the spring weather.

1) Wear Cardigans with Dresses– This a nice cover up for an event or a night out. These sweaters are warm enough to wear outside and pair well with summery and spring dresses.

2) Wear chunky/cropped sweaters with cutoff shorts- This is a cute fun look if you’re just going to run errands. You can finish the look with a pair of sandals or flats, and add a long chain. I think it is casual, but still girly. If the weather is too chilly for either shoe, opt for a short boot like the photo below.

This is what fall dressing looks like in LA: chunky sweater balanced with denim cut-off shorts and black ankle boots.

3) Wear a scarf with a tank top- I’ve seen a lot of people do this look as a sporty “on the go” outfit. It is easy to pair a loose printed scarf with a basic tank top. I think a messy bun and sunglasses would be great finishes too.

cute outfit but would I wear a scarf during summer or a jacket with this during winter?

4) Wear a turtleneck with a midi skirt- These skirts are super cute and flirty. This is a super cute day look to wear. That being said, don’t wear a chunky turtleneck. Stick to the fitted ones to pair with a nice billowy skirt.

Lulu Sale: Dresses Under $50

I found a lot of dresses and accessories on sale at Lulu’s website. I thought all of these pieces were appropriate for weddings especially. After all, wedding season has begun. Check out their sales. A lot of dresses and rompers were discounted :

$35– I thought this dress was very spring. I love how vibrant it is and absolutely adore the exaggerated sleeves. They’re super sweet and flowy.
$39– If you’re going to a spring or summer wedding, this jumpsuit is dressy, but still has an easygoing vibe. I think it’s really boho especially with long relaxed tresses.
$46– I’m obsessed with this shape. I think the fit would be flattering on so many shapes. The low to high length really works with this shape too. A statement necklace would also be ideal to showcase with the plunged neckline.
$37– These shoes would be great with multiple dresses, rompers, and jumpsuits. You can wear these to many formal events to come. They go with just about everything.
$26– This bodycon dress is super form fitting, but still classy. Bodycons can be worn to look cheap. This one has such a pretty neckline and structure, that it would be great for a wedding.
$26– This clutch/purse is great to wear with a neutral colored dress. I think adding a pop of color with a bag is ideal, especially for me. (I tend to stick with black and white) The yellow color is sunny and cheerful
$43– I thought this dress was super sweet and appropriate for a wedding too. The little buttons and ruffles are soft and innocent. The color is rich and the material is sheer. It’s romanticism in a dress.

6 Things to Think About Before Committing to a Prom Dress

So around this time, girls start worrying about getting the perfect prom dress! If it’s your first time buying a prom dress, there are definitely some tips you should take into account before buying your dress. Before I start, I just wanted to say that I drew a lot of these tips from my own personal experiences!

Let’s Begin:

1) Buy the magazines– There’s already so many prom magazines including the Seventeen magazine prom edition. You aren’t necessarily going to find a dress in there that you’ll order or buy, but you can at least get an idea of what you want. Do you want a fitted styled dress or a princess style? What color would look good on you? Also, there’s tons of hairstyles in there. If you’re going to get your hair done at a salon, bring in the magazine to show your stylist exactly what you want.

2)  Go for fit over style– When I first started looking for dresses, I really wanted a Grecian style that flowed down and looked whimsical. However, when I started trying on dresses, I found a lace cobalt dress that was super fitted. I had to choose between style and fit, and I’m glad I chose the fit because I looked much more natural in a dress that fit like a glove. If a princess style accentuates your shape the best, then for that style. If it’s a mermaid style, then go for that shape!

3) Don’t waste time on the shoes– I get that girls want the look to be perfect, but I was a little more practical when it came to the shoe. As much as I wanted a super bedazzled shoe, I knew it would be the only time I wore them. So, I opted for a nude pair of pumps! I’ve worn them to a lot of events since then, and I’m glad I didn’t overspend on shoes that were barely going to be seen with my gown.

4) Simpler might be better- I remember wanting to have the best dress. Every girl wants to the showstopper. However, accessories are underrated. With my cobalt blue dress, I paired it with a bright orange jeweled statement necklace. The colors were bright and contrasted well. The year after, I bought a plain pleated coral colored dress. I used a blue ribbon to tie at the waist and added another jeweled necklace. Accent your dress! It’ll make your look more original and unique. If your dress is covered in jewels or glitter, try to keep the accessories minimal.

5) Don’t Buy Online- This is obviously my own opinion, because I know a lot of people choose to buy theirs online. However, from my personal experience along with my friend’s, I don’t recommend buying it online. Don’t fall for the pictured looks. I think it’s too risky. The fit could be wrong, or the color could be off. For my case, both were problems, and I ended up with an ill-fitted dress. I then had to scramble to find a new dress.

6) Don’t Stress- Remember to relax. Prom is supposed to be fun. Don’t feel pressured to look perfect. Just try to look like the best version of yourself, and you’ll look beautiful. 🙂
