Project Runway Power Rankings

So I’ve been MIA with my Project Runway recaps because of my busy schedule. I did, however, finally catch up, so I’m going to do a little power rankings post.

By the way, this recap is based off of both design and personality, so some designers might be ranked a little higher purely because they’re entertaining. I also included my favorite look from each designer.

  1. Laurence– Laurence is such a badass on the show. After the first episode, I was a little disapointed, but I love her sleek, edgy aesthetic. Her looks are always chic and expensive looking, and honestly, I just love her personality too. Her leather jacket and dress from the last challenge have been my favorites so far.House of Bouton: Laurence Basse & Tasha Henderson
  2. Rik– Rik is also someone whose personality I really like. He just seems so humble about all the success he’s gotten so far. His designs are really sleek as well, and his swimsuit was one of my favorite pieces from this season so far.Rik Villa's Project Runway Season 15, Episode 4 Final Look
  3. Erin- Erin is clearly a force to be reckon with. Her aesthetic is really quirky and her emebellishments are super unique. I really liked the black light challenge because she used this concept of turning something pretty into something sexy.Erin Richardson's Project Runway Season 15, Episode 3 Final Look
  4. Jenni– Jenni is another person whose style is really refreshing and modern. Her dress from the last challenge was stunning and the color and embellishment made it look super expensive.Jenni Riccetti’s Season 15, Episode 6 Final Look
  5. Dexter– Sure Dexter got a little carried away with Erin, but I didn’t think his fringe dress was that bad. I really started liking Dexter after the team challenge. He was authoritative but still kept his fun personality alive. He’s definitely someone I can see going far.House of Bouton: Dexter Simmons
  6. Roberi– Roberi’s swimsuit was awesome in the fourth episode. It was such a playful print. Personally,  I like how whimsical and imaginative his designs are. Roberi Parra's Project Runway Season 15, Episode 4 Final Look
  7. Mah-Jing– Mah-Jing is so high because I love his personality. His vest was the one piece I liked of the collection, and I thought his tears over Tasha was so sweet.Team Unity: Mah-Jing Wong
  8. Brik- Brik should technically be at the bottom based on his first few designs, but I like Brik’s personality and energy on the show. He has a lot of funny sound bites, and it’d be cool if he made a comeback. Brik Allen’s Season 15, Episode 6 Final Look
  9. Cornelius- Cornelius is such a character. He’s so snarky, but I love the drama he brings. His designs aren’t my favorite, but the emoji dress he made was so amazing. He should’ve won that challenge.Cornelius Ortiz's Project Runway Season 15, Episode 3 Final Look
  10. Nathalia- Nathalia is on the bottom because she just isn’t that memorable. I love this look below. It was definitely a standout. The fact that she’s on my bottom shows how talented the designers are this year.Nathalia JMag's Project Runway Season 15, Episode 3 Final Look

BIP Review: The Silver Fox, Papa Bear & Lamp Guy

Caila/ Jared/ Ashley:  Okay, so I might have an unpopular opinion, but I don’t blame Ashley for her actions entirely. Does she sometimes go overboard? Of course. But Caila and Ashley were friends prior to the show, and Caila specifically said she was never going to go for him. If I vented to my friend about trying to get over someone, I would be so upset if that friend started dating him. Wells needs to come already because 1) He’s awesome, and 2) Ashley needs to move on.

Izzy and Vinny: I really loved these two. I was rooting for them to last. I really loved Vinny on BIP, and he honestly just seems like a normal dude. Izzy can’t help how she feels, but she definitely could’ve handled it better. But at the same time, if she really loved Vinny, she wouldn’t be feeling doubtful. I like them both and wish nothing but the best for these two.

Lace and Grant: Lace seems like a handful after this episode. Bless Grant for the upcoming episodes.

Jen and Nick: Jen and Nick are such a cool couple. I love Nick’s honesty throughout this season and appreciate that Jen confronted him about being scared again. I’m rooting for you Nick!

Carly and Evan: Carly and Evan are easily the most entertaining couple simply because of their personalities. Between Evan’s constant excitement and Carly’s hilarious commentary, I think they’re the most real couple on paradise right now.

Ryan and Haley: The Silver Fox nabbed Haley and they had such a cute little date.

Emily and Carl: Emily and Carl were literally having the time of their lives on the date they went on. It was so funny to Emily all giddy.

Amanda and Josh: I like that these two comforted Izzy after the Vinny situation.

Lamp Guy: Who knew lamp guy was going to have such an impact just by being there?

Girl Meets Upstate Fashion

Girl Meets World came back with Girl Meets Upstate, and I really enjoyed the episode. Here’s my review on the episode: https://mytrendingstories.com/article/girl-meets-world-review-shawn-and-maya-find-themselves/

As far as the fashion, even though Riley and Maya wore similar outfits, I liked different pieces more. Here’s what I liked from each of their outfits.

For Maya, I really liked this maroon vest. The sequined pattern and velvet is a lot for a vest, but Maya pairs it with a more understated lace up top to balance it out. Sabrina Carpenter always adds a more boho vibe compared to Riley’s more preppy feel with her red lace up top.

The Bachelorette Review: Alex is the New Chad

This episode was pretty boring. I’m going to recap the episode and rather than list my top 5, I’ll put my thoughts on everyone since there were only eight people anyway.

Photo from Jojo’s Instagram

Jordan: Jordan and Jojo. She just likes him so much. I didn’t mind Jordan at all in this episode. I’m just wondering if Jojo does pick him, what is the narrative? The edit isn’t exactly showing a love story.

Luke: I  think Luke would be a great choice for Jojo because he seems genuine when he’s with Jojo, but I also like the scenes when we get a glimpse of his personality. His “Are you guys going to kiss?” moment was actually really funny, as well as his “So where are we going next week?”

Robby: Robby is another guy who would be great for Jojo. He came out of nowhere, but it would be interesting if Jojo chose someone who wasn’t edited into the show until recently. Even tonight, we barely saw them together, but they both seem confident about their relationship.

James: Oh, James. I really love how humble James is. He didn’t have to throw Jordan under the bus because he’s got a great personality. Jojo isn’t going to pick

Chase/ Derrek: This two on one was really hilarious in a cringeworthy way. I really like Chase, but he is a little hard to read. He puts together these cute mini dates for Jojo, so I’m not sure why he needed to express anything so blatantly like Jojo wanted. Derrek’s crying was edited in such a ridiculous way.

Wells: Wells is such a sweetheart, but clearly not a match for Jojo. I’d love to see him in paradise.

Alex: Why did Jojo keep Alex? There’s no way she’s picking him. He’s constantly instigating everyone.

Other Random Thoughts:

  • I’m loving Jojo’s style. Her black dress with the leather jacket was so cute. Her blue cocktail dress was also stunning.
  • Lauren and Ben are getting a reality show. I love them, but what could it be about?
  • Derrek is going to have memes with that limo scene.

Bachelor in Paradise Review: Sobrero

This is from Tanner and Jared’s Instagram. I love this little friendship.

This week’s episode was interesting with more girls from Chris’s season returning. Things have shifted quite a bit. We also lost three guys right off the bat which was crazy.

Carly and Kirk: I love Carly and Kirk’s personalities. They mesh well and are both charismatic. Their date was really cute, especially with Carly calling her brother. But I can’t believe she missed her brother’s wedding. Well, I guess it depends on how paradise ends. Hopefully, it ends well. They make an adorable pair.

Tanner and Jade: Again, we got some small glimpses of Tanner and Jade doing well. They might be the “Marcus and Lacey” of the season. They’re also the couple I can see surviving in the real world. I know some people think they break up based on the preview, but I don’t buy into that.

Dan/ Ashley S./ Amber: Dan let go of Ashley, and I was so sad for her. He let her down in the nicest way possible, but Ashley was still annoyed at him. Then Amber comes along, and Dan and Amber had a nice date. I enjoyed seeing Dan and Amber because their conversation reminded me of a first date, and not some mushy forever and ever cliche. Remember Michelle and Cody’s wedding shoot? XD

Jared and Ashley I: So Ashley called Jared hot in this episode. That’s it.

Tenley and Joshua: She’s still so amused by his hands.

JJ and Megan: Megan chose JJ for her date, and I kind of thought they’d make a cute, weird couple. But Sobrero? Really?

Joe/ Juelia/ Samantha: I saved this for last because I have a lot of thoughts on this. So the episodes focused on Joe quickly jumping from Juelia to Samantha, and how Samantha and Joe talked before the show and lied to everyone. First, let me say that Juelia was a bit naive. She went a little fast by telling everyone she loved him, and that he would make a great father. And multiple people told her to watch out for Joe, which speaks volumes. However, Joe had no right to talk to Juelia the way he did. He was extremely defensive until Juelia said she wanted to speak to Samantha. Then he started apologizing immediately. He is so manipulative and immature. Good for Juelia when she started saying how she felt played by Joe in front of Samantha. But Juelia didn’t get her revenge yet, because Samantha defended Joe. Things get interesting when Super JJ swoops in for the rescue. JJ has actually grown on me a little. I liked how JJ called out Joe so bluntly. Bless Tanner and Jared who couldn’t handle the confrontation and just sat there.

And Jorge made his debut as Ashley’s counselor. That’s it for these two episodes! Let me know if I forgot to mention something from the episode. Can’t wait for more drama to come.
