The Bachelorette Review: 4000 Matches & 2 Injuries

The Bachelorette was back with another strong episode as the drama intensified in the house, and we got some surprises with an unexpected exit, an injury and some dark horses emerging. Here are my top 5 after watching this episode.

Blake: Blake is still going strong with Becca. I loved how he called her his girlfriend. It was very endearing, but we do see him being a little uneasy this episode because he had to learn how to share her when he had so much one on one time early on. I think it’s only natural for the people who get dates early on to get a little territorial kinda like Nick from Andi’s season. But I think Blake won’t cause drama because of it. I’m a big Blake fan so I hope he doesn’t self-implode.

Jason: Becca has a crush on Jason and so do I. When he popped up on my screen last night, I was like “Who is this Jason guy? He’s so cute.” He stood out too because he laughed off Becca forgetting his name, and I actually thought he was going to get the group date rose. He has some Ben Higgins vibes because he comes off very charming and genuine. But more importantly, Jason’s reaction to Jordan and David was so hilarious that it made me like him even more.

Garrett: I really liked Garrett in this episode. He’s goofy and you can tell he doesn’t take himself too seriously. I can see why Becca likes him because he just comes off as such a good-natured person.

Jean: Jean is such a confident guy. How could you not like this guy? I’m pegging him as my dark horse.

Colton: Colton isn’t really my type so I don’t really get all the hype about him being the best looking guy, but it’s working for Becca because she was able to overlook how sketchy the whole Colton and Tia relationship was. I think he got away with it pretty easily. And I love all the girls supporting Becca, but I honestly feel like Tia wasn’t really over the situation. When Becca said “Do you think he was hoping it would be you as bachelorette?” Tia fresponded ” Probab…I mean possibly.” Also, if Colton really liked Tia, he wouldn’t have gone on the show.

Other Thoughts:

  • Jordan comes off better than David simply because he’s just minding his own business. This is sort of like how Corinne came off better than Taylor because Corinne was just doing Corinne while Taylor was constantly instigating unnecessary drama.
  • Clay! Poor Clay. He’s such a sweet guy, and although I didn’t think he’d end up with Becca, I did foresee him going pretty far, so it was such a shame he left early.
  • David falling was so scary. Bunk beds need rails.
  • I have to bring up the Jordan and David fight because Wills, Jason and Jean’s reactions made me actually laugh out loud. So relatable for anyone that has been involved in friend drama when they don’t want anything to do with it.
  • Chris had a great one on one date, but I think the preview makes him cause drama that he sort of started in the first episode. With that being said, I was so heartbroken by his story with his dad and it made me wanna root for him.
  • I loved the guys who kept the nail polish on. It made the drama going on even more funny when you suddenly saw a flash of their nails.
  • Becca was a little more lively this episode especially when she commented about Jordan’s matches. I don’t think Becca necessarily has the same fire that Rachel had, but she is definitely relatable because not everyone has that personality. She’s a little more laidback, but when she needs to hold her own, she can which is great.

The Bachelor: Bekah with the Short Hair

Here’s my thoughts on episode 3 of The Bachelor, along with my top 5 based on the episode. Also, find out which former bachelor is dating a celebrity below. It was surprising to me for sure!

Bekah: Bekah has such memorable moments with Arie, and she really brings out his personality. I absolutely love when she called him out on being afraid of women who are much more independent. It makes a lot of sense in all honesty, and she managed to come off more cheeky than confrontational, which was great on her part. She’s way too good for this show.

Becca K.: Becca and Arie come off as the most boyfriend/girlfriend in this episode when they had their one on one time. I love the little moment when she called him a dork too.

Chelsea: I don’t mind Chelsea as much as others do. I really think Arie likes Chelsea a lot. I mean you can easily tell who he’s into and she’s one of the few he really likes.

Tia: Honestly, she reminds me so much of Raven, and I want to be friends with her. Tia comes off so well throughout the episode, whether she’s narrating or spending her time with Arie. I think she’s awesome.

Lauren B.: I could see Lauren being a dark horse after this episode. Not much to say so far, but I feel like Arie’s into her based on body language.

Other thoughts

  • Bibiana, Annaliese and Lauren S. went home. I really liked all three of these girls, so it was disappointing to see them all go.
  • I’m enjoying this season, but mostly because of the women bringing the drama. I don’t think Arie is really good at making the girls feel comfortable. Poor Analiese turned into a mess, but it was sort of justified considering how cringe worthy and cold Arie was toward her.
  • The Napa Valley date and Rachel Zoe date were both dream dates. The group dates on the other hand are total nightmares. I would not want to be on the wrestling or the derby date, and the dog show just seemed pointless.
  • I loved seeing Kenny back on the show! Speaking of the Bachelor franchise, how crazy do the winter games look? I’m pumped to see all my favorites back.
  • Nick Viall is dating January Jones? WHAT! I mean good for Nick if he is. It’s just surprising to hear. I know she expressed how much she loved the show on a talk show before, but wow!
  • OK, the last piece of news that I have is that there are rumors that the Bachelor producers want to do a trio wedding of Rachel and Bryan, Jojo and Jordan and Shawn and Kaitlyn. First off, I’m obsessed with Kaitlyn and Shawn, so I’d be most pumped to see them wed, but also secondly, how awesome is the Bachelorette track record? Three in a row that seem to be heading to success stories. Good for them!

Bachelor Blog: Planned Dancing

Here are my top 5 after this episode.

Vanessa: I love Vanessa. She was my early pick after the first episode, but she really exceeded my expectations. The date seemed like so much fun until she started feeling sick. Nick was so sweet and protective over her, which was a nice side to see to him. I really liked their dinner date as well because they had a very meaningful conversation followed by Nick actually crying! Then we end with a cliffhanger of her calling Nick out. We’ll see what happens next week.

Rachel: Rachel is another one of my favorites from this episode. She just seems very put together and had a great attitude at the group date. This was her first date outside of the house, and she seemed very grateful.

Danielle L: Danielle had a great showing this week, but I only see a physical connection between the two. I honestly don’t remember much from their conversation, but she might be a dark horse.

Raven: I still think Raven is going to go very far this season. She doesn’t seem like Nick’s type, but she seems like she’s got a connection with Nick still.

Corinne: Corinne is so ridiculous, it almost seems unreal. She is such a cringe worthy character to have on the show. It does worry me that females might think this is the sort of behavior they need to get the guy.  I love that Vanessa said she’s not judging Corinne because at the end of the day, they should be solely judging Nick, the object of their affection, not Corinne.

Other Random Thoughts:

  • Alexis is my spirit animal. She’s hilarious.
  • The reaction to Liz was pretty underwhelming. Nobody seemed to care.
  • The entire season seems like it’s geared toward questioning Nick’s intentions.
  • Sending Dominique home was smart on Nick’s part. She was just comparing herself to all the other girls.
  • Josephine is such a riot. She’s quirky and a lock for BIP.

PLL Fashion 7×03

So here are some of favorite looks from the episode. What a crazy episode! You can check out my review here: https://mytrendingstories.com/article/pretty-little-liars-review-season-7-claims-its-first-victim/

Enjoy the fashion!

I’m loving this Spencer’s trench coat. I like this mustard color and the way it all billows. I’m also loving that the liars are wearing a lot of Zara this season.

Zara ‘Trench Coat with Horn Button’ – $79.99

This is a classic Emily jacket. It’s olive, has patchwork and super casual  I love this color on Emily and thought this was a cute, but still appropriate for Emily’s age.

Zara ‘Patch Overshirt’ – no longer available

I liked how Spencer wore this with a trench. At first, I thought she was wearing a turtleneck, but I like this high neck peplum top for her. For some reason, I love Troian in all these high neck tops. It’s flattering on her.

Elizabeth and James ‘Perth Peplum Top’ – $119.99

Hanna’s kimono was my favorite piece. I loved the black tank top and burgundy skinny keans that she wore. This denim kimnon is very unique, and I love that Hanna wore it very casually.

Hanna’s Kimono- Intermix

The Bachelorette: Chad Overload

I’ve been in London for the past week so here is my recap for the past three episodes.

1-on-1 Dates:

Derrick: Derrick was the first one on one of the season, and he had a great showing. I liked that he made an effort to be decisive with each choice he was given. I had no idea there was even a Derrick after the first episode but he made a great first impression.

James Taylor:  James is awesome. I love how genuine and sweet he is with Jojo. I loved how outgoing and grateful he seemed during their entire date. The more he is shown the more I like him. That being said, I don’t think Jojo is going to end up with him. I would love it if she did pick him, but I don’t see that happening.

Luke: Luke is someone Jojo really likes just based on body language for the first couple of episodes. When they finally sat down for their date, Luke was so open and honest with Jojo. I really like them together, and see him going very far.

Chase: Chase is also another stand up guy. I loved the mini snow date at the cocktail party and when they went on their date, I really warmed up to him.

Power Rankings:

  1. Jordan– OK, it’s so obvious Jojo loves this guy. She’s already pressuring him for all this validation. She needs it from him because she just loves him. Kaitlyn did it with Shawn and Andi did it with Josh. Now Jojo is doing it.
  2. Luke
  3. Chase
  4. James T.
  5. Robby– Robby is someone I didn’t really think about until last night’s episode where Jojo said she felt comfortable with him even though she didn’t really know him.

Chad

Chad gets his own little section on my blog because he was just that much of a character. In episode 2, I actually didn’t mind him. He was pretty hilarious with the West Side Story comment and his commentary during the rose ceremony is gold.

He was also kind of right about saying he’s not going to say he’s falling for Jojo, when he doesn’t even know her. Did he go about it in the right way? Not really, but from Jojo’s perspective, she sees this guy is is being polarizing with how honest he is and she is intrigued by it. Additionally, when he does say he had feelings for Jojo, it’s more believable.

Now in episode 3 and 4, I can’t defend him…at all. The violent threats were absolutely ridiculous.  In what world is violent threats going to look good on television? His self-awareness flew out the window when he grabbed Evan’s shirt. Now I do think the constant pestering from Alex and Evan was a bit too much, but to say he’s going to beat up people is absurd. Now we wait for the epic conclusion of the Chad Saga.

Other Thoughts:

  • Chad’s eating habits at the cocktail party is literally me at any function.
  • The Jojo song had me dying. The bromance is real in the house.
  • That being said, who’s going to be the next villain? The house really bonded with their anti-Chad pact, but he’s gone now.
  • Chad explaining his protein shake analogy was really great.
  • I’m going to miss Chad. 😦
  • Wells was adorable. I think he’s a lock for Bachelor in Paradise. James too.
  • I think if Chase doesn’t win, he’d be a solid Bachelor.
  • Jojo is killing it when it comes to the fashion on the show.

Project Runway Review: Episode 3

Last night’s episode was the group challenge where designers took inspiration from countries and a cruise. And again, I wasn’t on the same page as the judges. Oh, and I miss David, and wish he was still on the show. 😦

blake and kelly greek isles

Blake and Kelly: This was by far my favorite, and I honestly thought this should’ve won. How were they safe? This screams Greece to me with the white and blue tones. I also like how the fabric peeked at the sides, and when the model turned around, the print was more prominent. I think the judges are crazy for putting this as a safe look, when it was the most chic to me.

swapnil and laurie india

Swapnil and Laurie: These two made a great team with Swapnil focusing on the sari, and Laurie making it modern and fresh. The crop top and high-waisted pant look was great on its own, but I also loved the mix of patterns. If Blake and Kelly couldn’t win, I would’ve had Swapnil and Laurie for the win.

Ashley and candice venice

Candice and Ashley: I’m really surprised that this look won. To me, the main problem is that this doesn’t say Venice to me. I like the mix of the floral print and the stripes, but the pants threw me off. They were way too short and I wasn’t crazy about the proportions. It’s a strong look, but I think it needs to be edited a little bit.

jake and lindsey hong kong

Lindsey and Jake: These two made me uncomfortable with how poorly they worked together. On one hand, Lindsey sometimes undermines Jake, especially with Tim’s critique ( I like you Jake, but I would sooner die) . On the other hand, Jake was making Lindsey do everything. They were in the top. He didn’t have to be so passive aggressive on the runway. Anyway, I liked the red dress, but I wasn’t crazy about the green vest.

amanda and gabby

Amanda and Gabrielle: This wasn’t that great, but it wasn’t terrible. The proportions are off, and this doesn’t read South of France to me at all. I did like the lining of the top though.

Joseph and merline st.peterburg

Joseph and Merline: If I were Merline, I would’ve pulled a Jake and said this was all Joe’s look. He completely shut her down from expressing her point of view, which is much more fun and fresh than Joe’s aesthetic. The little bib part was made of a nice fabric, but like I said, it looked like a weird bib. This was too old, and I would’ve liked to see Merline put some of her styling into this. She’s been on the top, while Joe made that really bad paper skirt last week. I’m not sure why he was so cocky in this episode.

hanmiao and edmond caribbean

Edmond and Hanmiao: Wow, this was so bad. I laughed when Gabrielle said it was good, and Hanmiao said “Really?” I can’t believe they used their differences in design aesthetics as an excuse. They could’ve split up the look. She could’ve made a structured crop top, and Edmond could’ve made a proper flowy skirt, and it would’ve worked for the challenge. I felt so bad for Edmond because Hanmiao couldn’t voice any of her opinions, and then she went crazy and sewed the model into the bathing suit.

Bachelor in Paradise Review: American Psycho

So here’s my recap for both episodes of Bachelor in Paradise this week. Both episodes were crazy, so here’s my thoughts on the episodes this week.

Clare/ Jared / Ashley- So after seeing both couples, Ashley and Jared are a better match. I know Clare is 34, and wants to settle down, but she is way too much of a downer in paradise. Jared and Clare’s “breakup” was so beyond unclear, and ended without much explanation. But whatever, because Ashley and Jared had the cutest moment together in the episode. Ashley played her cards right by letting Jared come to her for once. He went in for a kiss, and they were so adorable.

Jade and Tanner– Go Jade for standing up to Clare! They are quickly becoming background characters as they narrate everyone’s dramas. They’re my favorite couple so far, and I can see them lasting outside the show.

Tenley/ Josh/ JJ/ Michael- So Tenley finally got what she wanted when Joshua comes into the picture. The only problem is that Joshua and JJ are sketchy. In walks Michael who is an absolute sweetheart to Tenley. They would’ve made a great match. And then Tenley gave her rose to Joshua. There was no buildup either during the rose ceremony. Oh, and JJ had no chance.

Juelia/ Joe/ Jonathan/ Mikey– Where to even begin? Okay so Juelia and Jonathan had a short lived romance when Joe awkwardly comes to paradise. Then she kind of asks Joe to ask her to go horseback riding. We learn later that Joe was waiting for Samantha, so that’s why he was so casual when asking the girls out. Mikey also comes into the picture when he notices Joe’s interest in Samantha. But let’s set aside Juelia for a second. Let’s talk about Joe. Joe is an evil genius. The level of manipulation he pulled off was absurd. First, he got Juelia to believe that Jonathan and Mikey are desperate for roses. Then he got both guys to apologize to Juelia. And poor Jonathan. Bless him. He was bawling, and Joe had the nerve to bring his kid up.

Carly and Kirk– They’re all coupled up, so they didn’t have much time together, but they’re still cute together.

Dan and Ashley– These two also continue to be cute by talking about jellyfishes. Ashley S is also the only girl to call out Joe.

Lauren- Yeah, Lauren left.

So that’s it for this week! Can’t wait to see more drama unfold next week.
