The Bachelorette Premiere Review: Rachel Meets Her Men

The Bachelorette is back, and I’m excited for what looks like a drama filled season. Rachel handled herself like a champ in the premiere episode, even when the men were cringeworthy toward her, but we’ll touch on that later. Let’s look at my top 5 after this episode.

Bryan: Bryan made such a great impression last night. The rose seemed to be given purely based on the physical chemistry between him and Rachel, but they were so cute when they were talking to each other in that outside corner of the mansion.

Peter: I’m really good at telling when two people look good together just based on presence when they’re together, and I see it with Rachel and Peter. He was the first one out of the limo and those people always make it very far.

Eric: Out of the four people that met Rachel previously, Eric had the best first impression with his dancing. He seems like he has a fun personality too.

Dean: Let me say that Dean’s first entrance on the show was horrifying when he said he was “going black and never going back.” That line made me cringe so much. It’s so offensive especially because highlighting Rachel’s race should not be the focus of the season. But he did way better with his little sandcastle setup.

Alex: Just based on looks to be honest…..but I did love that he brought a vacuum cleaner to mirror what was shown when Rachel was auditioning for The Bachelor last season.

Other Thoughts:

  • I loved that Rachel brought all the girls back that she was close to on Nick’s season including Corinne, Raven and Alexis.
  • Rachel’s dress was so pretty especially with the straps in the back
  • Rachel handled Lucas very well. He was so disrespectful and obnoxious for most of the episode. It was funny for 3 seconds, and then became annoying.
  • Josiah and Dimario either become best friends or enemies. They’re so similar in their confidence so we’ll see. That being said, I loved Josiah’s story coming full circle.
  • The tickle monster was disturbing.
  • Adam Jr. was so ridiculous, but it was kind of funny too.
  • Mohit was so hilarious. I wish we got more of his drunk moments.

Project Runway Premiere Review

I’m so pumped that Project Runway is back! It’s been gone for a while, and I’ve missed doing reviews. Here are my thoughts after the first episode. I’ve ranked them based on who I felt should be on the top first.

erin

Let’s start with Erin, who was the winner of the challenge. How cool and calm was Erin, right? Everyone including Tim was freaking out on her behalf, and she knew what she was doing the whole time. The color and textures are so fun, but she manages to make it sleek. I 100% agree with the judges that she deserved to win.

jenni

I really thought Jenni was going to be in the top. I love the styling of the braids and slides. The fur coat and painted two piece was so playful, and I thought this was something girls would want to wear.

tasha

Tasha has a very cool street style, and I loved the metallic pants she made. It was different from anything we’ve seen in a while, and I liked the simple top with the strappy back. The little purse was also adorable.alex

This was a little safe, but I thought this was one of the most well-executed and sleek of the looks. I like the different layers and textures going on here. dexter

I liked the styling here a lot. The concept is amazing, but I didn’t love the top portion of the dress. It was an unconventional challenge, and this was a runway piece so I’ll give it a pass. Plus, the long hair and earrings give off a boho chic vibe.

cornelius

People said this belonged in the bottom? This was so pretty and it was made with plates! It definitely was one of my favorite pieces. I don’t care how literal it may be. It was executed perfectly.

rik.jpg

I loved the minimalism here. It’s sleek, well-designed and the back is so beautiful. This is a cocktail dress I would totally wear.

mah-jing

This was a safer look. It’s good enough because it’s made with a mashup of materials and it works.

nathalia

The more I actually look at Nathalia’s look, the more I actually like it. The silver material is gorgeous and the fur sleeves and sleek ponytail make it a solid look.

kimber

This was an okay dress, but it had the effect Kimber was going for. It’s a cute little New Year’s Eve dress, but it’s a little too plain and boxy for my taste.

sarah

Sarah needs to chill because this little two piece she put out actually worked out pretty well. laurence

I had such high expectations for Lawrence, and I was disappointed that she didn’t make anything that great. At least she admitted it though.roberi

This really shouldn’t have been on the bottom. It was a safe piece as well, but there were plenty of other safes ones that has way less creativity than this one. I’m on Heidi’s side.rick

If Brik just made the top into a black crop top and did a little top knot instead, this look would be fine. But the romantic top and hairdo doesn’t work with these pants. I like Brik, so I hope he pulls it together.

ken

Ian deserved to go home. The fringe is pretty, but when I saw the Polaroids, I was instantly thinking it would be amazing and creative. This was so disappointing and it did deserve to go. But good for Ian for standing by it.

linda

This was my least favorite look. It was so plain and basic. I personally thought this one had the least amount of design, and it was paired with those flats that didn’t really match.

The Fosters Fashion

Season 4 of The Fosters kicked off with an intense episode. However, PLL isn’t the only show with awesome fashion on Freeform. I loved Callie’s and Mariana’s outfits in the episode and went to WornOnTV for the details on their clothing.

I love how Mariana’s flirty girly style contrasts with Callie’s more conservative and preppy style. I really liked this boxy crop top for Callie, mainly because of the back of the top. It’s a nice surprise, and it’s also on sale for $18 if you want it! I left the link below the photo.

I really liked that Mariana wore this crop top with jeans instead  of the skirt for a more casual look. I also love the idea of making a peplum effect with a loose top underneath. Her wedges from Nordstrom were also super cute and tied the outfit together. I’m not a wedge person, but if I were to wear a pair, I’d get these ones.

Tonight’s another intense episode and I’m excited to see what happens next.

PLL Fashion and Review on Premiere

Usually, I just give some updates on the PLL fashion, but the season premiere had a lot going on, and I wanted to give my thoughts. I want to know what other people thought about the premiere episode.

First, here were my favorite outfits, which I was able to find thanks to WornOnTV.com.

I really like this leather jacket on Aria. I love how understated her style has gotten. Her clothes are much more wearable this season. I also love the ‘Safa’ Metallic Tee she has underneath it. It’s a fun play on textures.

Emily’s jean jacket is in a nice summery wash. I love how it’s frayed on the ends, and I like the simple ‘Athena’ Jumpsuit by Velvet Heart. Emily’s been wearing a lot of jumpsuits and maxi dresses since the time jump, and I’m loving her style.

Mona’s style has also changed a lot. Her once fun and colorful wardrobe from Season 2 changed to conservative when she got out of Radley, and then edgier after she escaped A’s dollhouse. Season 6 proved her style to be more business chic now that she’s into politics. I love her Tory Burch outfit, and the once dated tie neck blouse somehow looks modern.

Check out this website if you want to see more TV fashion. They have shows like New Girl, Modern Family and the Mindy Project.

Thoughts on the episode:

  • -The episode was good, but it wasn’t great for a premiere episode. I mean, I wanted at least one reveal, and we didn’t get that.
  • I couldn’t get over how nonchalant they were( with the exception of Caleb)  about the time restraint. Like why is Emily eating lemon bars when she only has 38 minutes to save her friend?
  • Speaking of Caleb, how rude was he when he hung up on Spencer?
  • Mona and Caleb’s banter was on point. Mona is quickly becoming my favorite character.
  • Alison 100% did not kill Charlotte.
  • Emily was bothering me so much in this episode. I’m all for Emily and Alison getting together, but Emily needs to stop being so weak when it comes to Alison.
  • So if someone is British, can we agree they automatically have some sort of tie to Wren? Is Dr. Collins related to Wren?
  • Hanna doesn’t know about Mary Drake, so her reaction to her was hilarious.
  • My questions after the episode: Who killed Charlotte? Who do the liars kill? Why the heck did Spencer show up in Hanna’s “dream”? It clearly has some meaning.

If you have any cool theories, leave them below in the comments!

The Bachelorette Review: Damn Daniel

Here’s my top five after last night.

Luke: I think his entrance was endearing with the unicorn. It was a grand entrance, but it had meaning behind it. He also seems quieter than most of the guys, which hopefully means no drama for the season. He was favorite from the night.

Jordan: Jordan is clearly the frontrunner right now. He and Jojo had an instant attraction, and she seemed comfortable talking to him already. He is going to go really far, but that connection might fade like most first impression rose contestants have had in the past. I think all the guys are going to be super jealous.

Chase: I’m going to pick someone who wasn’t really featured in this episode because Ben wasn’t really featured in Kaitlyn’s season until a few episodes in. I also looked at the bios, and thought Jojo would like him based simply on his photo and picture.

James T.: Personality wise, I loved James. He was endearing when he was talking to Jojo. Jojo seems to fall for bad boys, and he doesn’t really fit that mold. Maybe he’ll be like the Jared of the season, where you’re surprised how far he comes.

Wells: I really liked his personality and he looked better than he did in his bio. I don’t think he’ll be Jojo’s pick, but I’m already thinking about Bachelor in Paradise.

Other Random Thoughts:

  • Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Nick V. surprised everyone by being the man under the Saint Nick costume? XD
  • I didn’t realize hobbies can be occupations: Hipster? Superfan?
  • Speaking of Superfan, he came to the rescue when no one knew who Jake Pavelka was.
  • Chad was a great narrator tonight.
  • Daniel was everything. He was awkward, drunk and jumped into the pool. He was such a mess, and I loved him.
  • I actually liked the scene with Ali, Des and Kaitlyn because they gave some solid advice.
