Deb Shops Steals

So I went shopping yesterday for the first time in forever. I stopped into Deb Shops because I noticed all the signs saying they’re going out of business. Their sale was really good and I found two pieces that I really liked.

If there’s a Deb Shop by you, check it out! Everything is their store is now 50%-70% off.

Gray Knitted Sweater $13.95- I love chunky sweaters during the wintertime. They’re so cozy and the over-sized ones are my favorite. I got this gray one a size bigger so it would fit baggy with layers. These sweaters are usually really expensive, so I was really happy that I found a much cheaper one.

Coral Tank Top $1.90- Yes, I got this for $1.90! Tank tops are perfect to buy during the winter because they’re much cheaper than they are during the spring and summer. I liked the color of this tank, and thought it would pair nicely with a patterned maxi skirt.

#blueandblack

This dress craze is amazing.

I think the dress is blue and black, but according to a Buzzfeed poll, 76% said the dress was white and gold. I’m not seeing it, so in honor of the controversy, I thought I would post some blue and black outfits in support for my 24%!

Anyways, this was obviously all in good fun so no white and gold haters please! Have a great Friday everyone!

Inspiration of the Day: H&M

Just a quick post for today. I was browsing H&M and found this cute geometric shift dress for $24.95! I love all the neutrals and blue hues in this dress.

Also, I saw these black, wedged boots for $59.95 at H&M and thought they were super sleek.

Does anyone else think these wedged boots would pair well with the dress and some black tights? 🙂

Pretty Little Fashion: Spencer and Hanna

Here were my favorite pieces from last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars! The show is heating up, but I’ve also been loving the fashion this season.

Topshop ‘PU Black Pleated Midi Skirt’ – $110.00: These pleated midi skirts are going to be big during spring time. I think they look great with crop tops and there are so many in fun pastel colors to wear in the spring. Also, if you can’t wait for the weather to warm up, try wearing the skirt with a fitted turtleneck and some fun patterned stockings.

BCBGMAXAZRIA ‘Farrah Asymmetrical Keyhole Top’ in Black – $82.80 BCBGMAXAZRIA ‘Jimmy Moto Jacket’ – $159.20: I really like these pieces both separately and together. The asymmetrical cut and leather detailing is a fun play on a standard peplum top. The jacket is also super edgy. I’m surprised this wasn’t given to Aria. However, I think Hanna went for a more monochromatic look, which actually works well here.

Oscars 2015: My Favorite Looks

Here were my favorite looks from the Oscars last night. My two favorites were Emma Stone and Rosamund Pike. I also included some of my other favorite looks along with some thoughts!

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike wore a red laced Givenchy gown. This was my favorite look of the night! The slit was strategically placed to show off matching shoes. Her styling and makeup gave her a glowing feel. I’ve been a little disappointed with her looks this award season, but her Oscar dress made up for it.

Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o looked amazing in her Calvin Klein gown. There were more than 6,000 pearls that went into that dress. The color popped really well with her complexion. I know some people weren’t crazy about the cutout but I liked the interesting construction of the entire dress.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone surprised in a very Hollywood glamour look. I love the olive color against her skin and the orange lipstick and hair style pulled the look together well. I also love the neckline and sleeves of her Elie Saab dress.

Actress Jennifer Aniston attends the 87th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 22, 2015 in Hollywood, California.

Jennifer Aniston looked effortless in her Versace gown. The blush color of her gown sparkled and accentuated her figure in all the right places. The natural hair and makeup also gives off an easygoing, relaxed vibe.

Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson‘s Romona Keveza gown is really flattering on the 33-year old singer. I’m crazy about the honey color, and the minimal styling showcases a sleek, clean dress.

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts went for a black and silver Armani dress. She looked super modern with the thin straps and bandeau. Her loose waves also added an edgy vibe. She always looks glamorous with an edge. Remember her snake necklace?

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie looked very edgy in her plunging Saint Laurent dress. The sheer sleeves, edgy hair and bright lip made her look very refined and edgy at the same time. Her necklace also stood out, which was designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.

6 Things to Think About Before Committing to a Prom Dress

So around this time, girls start worrying about getting the perfect prom dress! If it’s your first time buying a prom dress, there are definitely some tips you should take into account before buying your dress. Before I start, I just wanted to say that I drew a lot of these tips from my own personal experiences!

Let’s Begin:

1) Buy the magazines– There’s already so many prom magazines including the Seventeen magazine prom edition. You aren’t necessarily going to find a dress in there that you’ll order or buy, but you can at least get an idea of what you want. Do you want a fitted styled dress or a princess style? What color would look good on you? Also, there’s tons of hairstyles in there. If you’re going to get your hair done at a salon, bring in the magazine to show your stylist exactly what you want.

2)  Go for fit over style– When I first started looking for dresses, I really wanted a Grecian style that flowed down and looked whimsical. However, when I started trying on dresses, I found a lace cobalt dress that was super fitted. I had to choose between style and fit, and I’m glad I chose the fit because I looked much more natural in a dress that fit like a glove. If a princess style accentuates your shape the best, then for that style. If it’s a mermaid style, then go for that shape!

3) Don’t waste time on the shoes– I get that girls want the look to be perfect, but I was a little more practical when it came to the shoe. As much as I wanted a super bedazzled shoe, I knew it would be the only time I wore them. So, I opted for a nude pair of pumps! I’ve worn them to a lot of events since then, and I’m glad I didn’t overspend on shoes that were barely going to be seen with my gown.

4) Simpler might be better- I remember wanting to have the best dress. Every girl wants to the showstopper. However, accessories are underrated. With my cobalt blue dress, I paired it with a bright orange jeweled statement necklace. The colors were bright and contrasted well. The year after, I bought a plain pleated coral colored dress. I used a blue ribbon to tie at the waist and added another jeweled necklace. Accent your dress! It’ll make your look more original and unique. If your dress is covered in jewels or glitter, try to keep the accessories minimal.

5) Don’t Buy Online- This is obviously my own opinion, because I know a lot of people choose to buy theirs online. However, from my personal experience along with my friend’s, I don’t recommend buying it online. Don’t fall for the pictured looks. I think it’s too risky. The fit could be wrong, or the color could be off. For my case, both were problems, and I ended up with an ill-fitted dress. I then had to scramble to find a new dress.

6) Don’t Stress- Remember to relax. Prom is supposed to be fun. Don’t feel pressured to look perfect. Just try to look like the best version of yourself, and you’ll look beautiful. 🙂

Nashville Fashion: Scarlett’s Dress

I’ve been loving Nashville so far since it’s been back! There’s been tons of drama! However, between Juliette’s pregnancy and Rayna’s break up, there haven’t been too many occasions for the girls to dress up for. However, I loved Scarlett’s dress last episode! I think she is the type of girl who can pull off these easygoing, loose dresses. It also has a very rustic feel to it too. I’d wear this dress in the spring with some cute flats or riding boots. Thanks to WornOnTV for the details of this dress! It was on sale at Nordstrom for $69.95, but they’re officially sold out. If you want to check out the other places you can find the dress, you can find it at Zappos and Revolve for $148.00.

Happy Friday everyone! Check out WornOnTV for more television show fashion!
